For the beginner: why hold bitcoin?

i wrote this article in a private blog in the early part of 2018, only added in the last paragraph to put into context our current Covid19 situation. i feel it will be good to post this article in a public domain so new people who are not sure what the hype is about bitcoin and crypto assets will get a rough idea why we advocate people to keep bitcoin, i have another report about ethereum but that is like 20 pages long so when i get the time i will condense and put it up here.
